Sacred Heart Mission Site and Cemetery
Konawa, OK 74849
Dating back to 1876, The Sacred Heart Mission was once a convent and a school for girls. The original heritage site was destroyed by fire in 1901 and was rebuilt. Ruins of many past buildings are still visible today and there are spirits that are said to linger the church buildings and the cemetery nearby. Visitors have reported apparitions of priests and monks that wander around the site, and animals that make eerie noises at night and disappear. A shadowy apparition has also been spotted in the basement of the mission, and is said to cry and breath heavily. Growling noises of animals, ghostly voices and strange lights floating around the graveyard are also among the paranormal reports here.
