This place was so cool to go to. They had so many side shows to watch while waiting for your turn to go into the haunt itself, they had food, a movie to watch, drinks, and photo areas. The haunt itself was amazingly made as well, they put so much detail into it but didn’t overdo it either. The staff were all super nice and even the owner was nice as well. If you’re looking for a haunt to do during October or even first part of November definitely give them a shot. They deserve more than 5 stars if I could give it. Also don’t listen to these one star people saying the employees were rude, the wait is long, or it’s not worth the wait. It is worth the wait, the employees were furthest from rude, they were helpful and a joy to be around. The wait time isn’t bad either, they have plenty of things to do to pass the time so that shouldn’t even be a issue

Awesome

As a Voorhees acutely really last name Voorhees. Horror and hunting is our family favorite thing and hunted house is one of our favorite things to do and hands down this hunted house with the blood touch was great!! Awesome job!! We got the fast pass so worth it and yes touch us all over with hands from your actors was cool👻 we drove over 2 hours to go to this hunted house and it was so worth it!!

Frighteningly Amazing!!

This haunt has it all worked up!! So much fun going on all around the place. There’s movies playing, fire spinners, food trucks, beer, and vendors with really great stuff!! The actors are amazing, and do an all out great performances.

Had the greatest time. The haunt itself is top notch. The work these people out into this Haunt is so impressive. The Midway is a complete mega bonus with all the shows and the Haunt actors that work the Midway. Especially the scarecrow guy and these two crazy clowns or Jester. Creepy as heck. Highly recommend this Haunt to everyone. 10 out of 10

This place is amazing... The shows in their Midway is such a great idea. We had constant entertainment. The freak show was so interesting you had to continue to watch. The Fire dancers do an incredible show. Didn't care much for the magic show but it was something to do. The haunt itself was the best I've been to in years. Not animatronics but real haunt actors that really put on a great show. We did the touch and grab with blood for the full experience and was not let down. We have been to many trails and Haunts around Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Kansas and will continue to come back to Guthrie Haunts every year from now on. Don't miss out on this Haunt!!!!

I don’t scare easy but love searching for a haunted house to do do it. Guthrie Haunts is the closest I’ve found to being able to scare me. The scared the beegeezies out of my granddaughter and her friend. They loved it and want to go back.

So much fun!

We did not expect much, but the midway entertainers were amazing. They took the time to talk to the kids about their rather unusual shows- the knights, the performers all took pics with the kids. There were a ton of teenagers, but everyone was clearly having fun. It has a bit of a carnival feel and is small enough to feel comfortable with enough to keep you busy until the haunted house line is open for you. I cannot say enough about the haunted house. I took my kiddos 11,12 and 12. They held onto me while I held them and we screamed and laughed the whole way. The actors were terrifying, but honestly I think they had the presence of mind to recognize I had younger kiddos - they balanced the startles with so much fun. We already can’t wait for next year!

Once again guthrie haunts impressed. But they needed more people throughout the whole thing. Too many empty tunnels. It needed to be more dark. Tad more scarier. Loved the floor!!!! And please please bring the checkered room back!!!! Only reason I came back. Loved the movies playing outside and the entertainment was good especially the fighting knights. It got busy and wait time honestly was not bad compared to other places. Really missed Mr giggles outside making people scared! Maybe more like him. Not for kids in my opinion maybe outside but not in because we had a little kid crying the whole time behind us or was it? Lol but yea guthrie haunts thank you for another great year with my family!!

Fantastic Frightening Family Run Fun!

From the moment we arrived the the entire night was very entertaining. Fire dancers, ribbon dancer, dunk tanks, seating! The security and staff recognized my grandmother's need for a little extra accommodation. The staff then quickly assisted us in parking our vehicle near exit of haunt. The actors or scare cast through the entire property were authentically creepy and also respectful for me and my family and others I witnessed during our first experience at Guthrie Haunt. I'd rate you guys a 10 if I could. Very hospitable people and we appreciated it much.

It was honestly such a great night! All of the workers we talked to have been there for years and had nothing but nice things to say, they were all so friendly and just wanted us to have the best time! The walkthrough itself was great and I can not explain how much fun it was! Each of the actors were great and made little jokes as we were running through and it made the experience absolutely amazing!

Dear Haunt Owner, I wanted To Write a Personal Note Based on my Recent Experience at your Haunted House on sept 12th, 2020. I bought 6 Tickets To Tour your House. I wanted to complement you and your staff on there Outstanding Performance's. I've been Touring Haunted Houses Across The Globe and Rating Them since 2001. So we started off by looking at the top 20 Haunted Houses that Were still operating During the Covid-19 Pandemic. So your Location was on the Radar to Visit thus year! So My Review upon Arrival at your location was Very Exceptional. Upon Entering the Q-lines for the Ticket Offices we was Greeted By One of your Actor's "Mr. Giggles The Clown", Very Delightful and Very Scary and Warming Creature you Have There!. "His Acting Was Spot on Good! He Was Visibly Seen from all directions of the Park. He Interacted with all the guest inside and outside of the Haunt Leaving them Extremely Freighted! " So Moving Forward, The Gal at the Entrance was Taking Temperature Checks and Making sure All Patrons Had a Mask and she Constantly made sure to Express the Covid-19 Precautions While Experiencing the Haunt. Upon making it To the Box office I seen that The Tickets Where Coated in a Special Color Circle For Line Priority, That in My Opinion Was Genius! I could Hear some Guest Waiting in Line was a Little Confused due to They didn't understand the Q-Line Color Bulbs, Most People had a Hard Time understanding the line method. But in My opinion thus was Extremely Genius! … The Q-Line Lights worked Great, it made Social Distancing Great and i Really Enjoyed That you didn't get ran over by the next group, Even if you went to slow in the haunt. Upon Experiencing the Front yard There Were multipul Vendors and Cool Things along the Way that was super creapy. I enjoyed the Special Fire Throwing Show dispayed in front Lawn While guest Waited. all Very cool Stuff!! ... Okay So Moving Forward with the Theming and Lighting, I was Really impressed. The Theme Was Laid out Very well in most places of the haunt. The Best room of the house includes a total of 3 rooms that i thought in my opinion was Badass, #1- The Butcher Room... it was Disgusting, it had all the effects in my opinion with the saw running all the way to the Act of the Room. Great Job in there! well done! , #2 - The Charcoal Burning Man Room.. okay So First off... the theme Was Brilliant! down too the Lights, The Body laying on the Coal to The Heat in the Room was unbelievable! The Smell in there Was horrendous haha Never seen a Theme Quite like thus one! it made me and my guest feel uncertain of what was gonna happen next. loved this room! one of my favorites although it would have been nice to have had 1 actor in the bed of coal instead of a mannequin in my Opinion but Sensational and highly Realistic Room! #3 The Shaking Floor was a awesome experience! it makes you feel like you have absolutely no balance at all while walking across it. The Floor and Theming Was Beautiful drawn Out! your Staff and yourself did an Outstanding Job Building and Theming Your Haunted House for 2020 haunt Season! Moving on to the The Acting and Scare Ability - Now there's There is no doubt in my mind you have got some of the best actors and Actresses on your Grounds but in my opinion... some of the actors and actresses where great and on point for the theme in there rooms and chambers. I found little flaws in this Haunt. The only.. thing i could have wished more about … would have been making the tour longer! but due to the Covid-19 Crisis , you all did an Outstanding Job Protecting your Patrons and your Staff! Continuing on... Your Security and Law Enforcement was highly Professional! There Level of Conduct Was Superior and I seen Several Officers making sure that the Mask where on and the premises where secure while Interacting With all Guest To make sure they were having a great time while waiting to get into Q-line. I Also noticed inside the haunt rooms.. you had IR-Cameras in each room for security ... Witch in my opinion was very awesome! most haunts do not have such devices for safety or security...so i applaud you for that! Very Smart! - Not only for medical or Fire Emergency's But for Safety of actors getting touched and so on. Now on To Rating your Haunted House.. My Scale is 1-10 and 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. below you can look at each room and what i thought you deserved. I had an Absolute Pleasure touring your Haunted House Thus weekend. I will Return in the Future. Your Haunt Rocks! *** Haunt Ratings Below***Animatronics: (10) didn't See None lol Mostly all Practical Acts throughout the whole haunt! Scare Ability: (9) Most Acts where spot on with there theming and area's , Other areas lacked like the Coffin Room and the Hospital. Both acts in my opinion were not too good, they seamed wore out and Exhausted maybe due to probably the night was almost over but not very energetic at all lol. But the rest of the House was on Point and Very Very Scary! one Of the acts ...scared one of my guest so much she peed her pants walking thru haha.. so that's an awesome job in my opinion! Theming: (10) Was Outstanding! Every corner and Room Was Carefully Examined top to bottom of what we could see thru the heavy smoke! ... but Every room was highly creative! love it. there was several things in your haunt that i haven't seen in other haunts. except for your more expensive ones. but hands down nice job building all the sets and painting the themes. well done! Sound Effects and Lighting: (8) not much lighting in some rooms and didn't hear much sound effects. but definitely was a cool experience with out it. Costumes: (10) you guys had Phenomenal Costumes! Loved all the Clowns and other creatures costumes well themed out. they looked all so realistic and creepy!Emergency Exits illuminated: (5) unfortunately only seen 1 exit light... now that doesn't mean there wasn't some placed other places but i really didn't see any exit lights for in the event of an emergency. Makeup and Practical Effects: (10)All makeup was hand done to perfection! I absolutely didn't see any pullover mask or outrageous and stupid costumes. the team really took there time to make the experience feel realistic! phenomenal job to the f/x artist at Guthrie haunts!Covid-19 Safety Precaution's: (10)Amazing staff to make sure all precautions where handled in a professional manor! the Site was equipped with State of the Art forehead Temperature Scanners and a series of Questions they ask before you are cleared to enter the compound of the haunted house common area. great job and felt super safe entering thus establishment! they took the Law Very Serious and provided there guest with a super clean environment. and constantly enforced keeping mask on while touring the haunted attraction. Q-lines and Social Distancing: (10) The Q-Lines had florescent markings showing a distance of 6ft apart every step of the concrete to ensure safety, that also had the distancing chart posted on the walls of the building as well for added vision to ensure added safety to maintain that 6ft distance. felt great to know they took pride in keeping there patrons and there staff super safe! Patron and Staff Face Protection Mask: (10) All guest Are Required and Enforced from The entry line into the haunt and thru the haunt ... if the mask was not wore properly... a warning would be issued and if the patron didn't follow the rules ... security would unfortunately have to ask the patron to leave the promise for not following the rules of the Haunted House.Security And Law Enforcement: (10) Very Helpful and highly professional Gaurds protecting the entire haunted house and all of the guest inside and out! being quick to respond in the event of an emergency! Parking Lot Attendance and Costume theming:(10) Great Parking Lot Attendance, Seemed to be plenty of parking. and they park your car in a safe spot insuring your car is safe while you visit this haunted house. if you should get lost the attendant will help you find your car if you should need help. very helpful staff inside and out! Front yard Roaming and toying with Patrons: (10)the Patrons where entertained by multiple experiences including chainsaw wielding Clowns or Fire throwing batons or creepy ghouls waiting to scare you exiting the bathrooms... all a very real experience, hands down the actors love there jobs at this haunted house. everyone was very characteristic and it felt realistic and scary!You have the best haunted house in this location! i really enjoyed the tour! i will forward this information over to Haunt World Haunted House Review Team. i appreciate you allowing us to experience the first haunted house of the year! it was a sensational experience and i cannot wait too visit your location again in the future! We went on Halloween. Oh my goodness it was awesome. It took forever to go through. But in a good way. I hate short haunts. The guys in the kitchen was crazy and scared me half to death!

Best haunt in the OKC area

I go to haunted houses every year and this has to be the best experience I've had so far. The sets are interesting, unique and fun, the actors are interactive and respond and snark back rather than generic jump scare interactions which makes each go through a one of a kind experience. The touch upgrade is worth every penny and really enhances the experience (though I think my neck band was hidden by my hoodie so I didn't get pulled away sadly). Our group usually consists of 5-6 people and every time we have left the haunt separately, which for me, just really increased the intensity. The front scare actors are attentive and consistent in their scares and interactions and everyone working there from the traffic directors to the actors to the security and ticket staff are all very kind and personable. I will be going each year from here on out.

So much fun!

There is SO much going on here and we loved it! There's food trucks and people walking in the line to entertain us while we waited. We enjoyed the haunt as well. Some of it is scary, some of it entertaining, some of it was creepy. We screamed and laughed!

I visited Guthrie Haunts Scaregrounds on Friday, October 11th, 2019 with my fiance to celebrate our plans to get married the following day. Neither of us had ever been to Guthrie, OK but having recently moved from Ohio’s First Capital, we were excited to see the town’s resemblances and the supposed top haunt in Oklahoma. As a serious haunt fan, I must say that several of the haunts we’ve checked out in OK have been lackluster-- until Guthrie Scaregrounds. I ordered tickets online without the fast pass or touch upgrade since I like to see what a baseline experience is like start-to-finish. I really value haunts with charity models and affordability for families, so I never buy more than the base. Tickets were $20 each with a couple dollars in online fees. Ordering ahead was very much worth the fee because on-site ticketing had a massive line-- we found out later that they also ran a Groupon and radio 50off deal that needed to be redeemed at the ticket window, which may have contributed.Gates opened at 7pm but we arrived at 8:30 due to travelling a couple of hours after work and checking into our hotel. Unfortunately, the stretch of road in front of the entrance is reduced to one lane for about a mile both directions (with an 11 minute wait between signals), but the staff made the best of it by having an additional traffic director at the haunt entrance. Quite a scary trek to get here through the woods in the dark which really added to the experience. Parking was a breeze and you could see that they were well-equipped to host many more people than were currently in attendance.Walking up to the haunt was an experience I was much more familiar with in Ohio, but hadn’t seen it here, yet: a food truck, portable restrooms, an alcohol area, a psychic, and some various pre-show entertainment. This actually felt like a haunt when we walked up due to plenty of spooky things to see and actors to interact with before ever even stepping in line. I absolutely love this model because it allows for folks to be entertained while waiting for friends to arrive, as well as stay on-site to decompress afterwards, should you choose. The ropes for the line were properly reconfigured to accommodate the crowd, so we didn’t have to walk through the maze of ropes like at many other attractions. There was a slideshow playing off of a projector on a mega screen advertising some of the scare actors and local partnerships which gave something to look at if you were far back in line. Luckily for us, there wasn’t much of a crowd at all.We waited in line for about 45 minutes with the final 20 minutes being entertained by fire spinners and a magician. I was very impressed with the entertainers, but was definitely disappointed in the lack of audience interest. Although folks were watching, it felt like I was the only one really into the show. Granted, it was fairly dark grunge music but it was completely appropriate for the tone of the attraction. My only complaint of the entire night was that I wish the fire spinners would’ve arrived a bit earlier in the night to have the live entertainment started closer to when ticketing began. As we neared the entrance, the scared mother-daughter pair in front of us realized that they were allowing folks to go in with as few people as in their group, so they asked us to join them. The four of us were let inside where they took our tickets and went over the rules. They made it clear that cameras were inside to protect their actors, which I appreciated knowing the kinds of assaults that tend to happen against staff. We were in the holding room for only a couple of minutes and we were soon on our way.I have absolutely nothing to complain about inside the haunt. It was really long-- 30 minutes-- and had both indoor and outdoor segments. They utilized a solid combination of individual scenes, jump scares, sfx, sound, heat, and gore. Not once did I ever feel rushed by any actors and they actually allowed scenes to play out at whatever pace we unfolded them. No visible security inside (at least not out of costume) and there were several places where interaction was forced before moving forward. We also never once saw a single other group walking through-- the spacing was impeccable. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but I just felt the experience was so well-done that I would recommend anyone in Oklahoma to make the drive to visit. Incredible.Overall, this was definitely one of my favorite haunts I’ve ever been to. I’m a sucker for live entertainment, interactive scare actors (who went in-and-out of the haunt to scare you twice, might I add!), and integrating community businesses/talents. Amazing work and I am definitely planning to return this Valentine’s Day!

It was not the best...

It was too short for $20. The scare factor was good! Need more spaced out groups, too close to the people in front of us and the group in front of us were drunk and obnoxious making us miss part of an attraction. Overall it was okay

I loved this place! We went on the last night and it was Black out. I recommend spending the extra money for the touch option and the fast pass. Worth it. Staff was awesome. I will go back for Valentine's day haunt. Love Giggles....

Definitely enjoyed

Very nice set up and I enjoyed it definitely. They were instances that made me jump. I was taken by surprise. The actors were fiery and witty. They had a great sense of timing. Totally worth the money and time.

I have been a devoted haunted house addict for about 25 years.... honestly I enjoy them but do not really get scared.... ever!Tonight my daughter and I hit this haunted house ... and well, ... One of the best and biggest I have attended so far. It was indoors and outdoors combined a vast 30,000 sq ft of scares. There was so much variety in the haunts. We had to walk almost half a mile through the haunts.

This haunted house was definitely among the best! The scare people were truly great. Loved the interaction from them and how they made you stay on your toes. The chain saws were spooky too! Definitely among the best I’ve been to.

Halloween has been, and will always be me and my wifes favorite holiday. That being said, our anniversary is Oct 25th and since going last year, this has been our go to celebration. The haunt is amazing and always gets great reactions from groups. I personally hate small places so the black air bags or whatever they were scared the hell out of me and i loved every second of it! I led our group and my wife pinched onto the back of my shirt like a leash. The actors must communicate or be very perceptive, because a few would close her off from holding onto me without physically touching her. It added a level of fear to her and the rest of the group as i continued on my way to habe a bloody good time. I hope to get the glow bracelet that allows the actors to interact with you. My wife forbids it right now, because she doesnt want me split off from the group. The event used shaking floora, lights, and even horrible smells to add to the realism. Just do it if you are thinking about it you will come out feeling more alive than when you went in. Attraction takes about 40 minutes and if you are proactive you can typically score a deal on groupon. They also told me yhis year they had a nkvember haunt and would be doing a valentines one (tried going last year but transmission broke on car). I hope to experience those botb this year so everyone keep their eyes peeled! Here are some thoughts to the attraction. Jist personal opinions really. The mine was well done in ambience, but it didnt seem scary beyond atmosphere. The prisoners just kinda ran around yelling and it didnt feel as upclose and personal as the other attractions. That being said, messing with the elevation and the lighting definately made you take ypir time though that section. Just take advantage of that opportunity! I loved how you combined the two houses this year. Last year the nightmare or whatever the house to the right was called was ok, but incorporating it into the main attraction provided a seemless experience imo. I would change up the parts though. It seemed that the teddy bear thing and the bar and tv room were recycled. I would like to see maybe a killer dragging a body through the crawl space with a screaming victim, or maybe a cannibal coming out to drop bones or organs not consumed ect. Alot of potential to recycle one idea. That being said the willingness to improve and take risks is great! You change the format alittle and it is for the best. I would love to work on this project if you ever take volunteers or just brainstorming!

It was fun and nightmarish to go through tight spaces and moving floors. There were rooms with no lights at all. I was hesitant to enter but pushed inside by someone and got really terrified. It was scary but would love to do it again.

Great haunted house. Get the touch feature! The actors are great. The guy who bear hugged me and told me I couldn’t go was the coolest. It put me in the moment. I was covered head to toe in blood by the end of the experience. If the actors tell you to do something just do it! The more interactive you are the better. You have to be 18 to upgrade to the touch. Make certain someone in your group pays for touch. My daughter loved watching them terroize me. She is under 18, but thought it was cooler to see the actors interact with someone In the group. We are coming back next year!

Well worth the long drive. We were not too convinced about this place, nevertheless planned for a quick visit. I was amazed at the effort. The place was huge and full of energy. The staff was friendly and gave us all a warm welcome in the waiting area. The front gate entertainment was fun. They had huge cut outs and display where we clicked photos. The haunts were great. Used good mix of props and special effects. The makeover was professional. The scares could be anywhere, from behind the door or a dark corner.

Terrific Terror

RED is the color you see everywhere at Gutherie, bloody horror this time. I went with my hubby for both attractions and got the terrific terror upgrade there. As usual, lots of people were there on Saturday but we showed up 35 mins before 7 so we were among the first few people that got in the house. The Insomnia attraction was full of fun and I wish that I can spend some more time there. It was a way more horror fun if you are in a small group though.

Double Hauntedness

It was my first time in Guthrie Haunts. We do not stay near it, and had to drive nearly 1 and half hours to get there. But I must admit, the drive was worth it! From outside it looked like an old school building, but he inside view was amazing. Literally, the best Haunted attraction I have ever been to! Guthrie Haunts mainly consists of two attractions; The Scare Grounds and the Insomnia. Both the attractions were awesome and perfect. The Scare Ground is a blast while the Insomnia gets you blooded, yes literally blooded on your clothes. So remember to wear clothes you do not mind getting blood stained and dirty. This place is a total blast. I am returning again tomorrow.

Amazing Haunted Experience

Amazing haunts, amazing staff and an amazing experience. Everyone in the house, from the owner to the small supporting staff has put their best of efforts into this and that shows everywhere. The only drawback was the long lines, but they managed to provide some relief and entertainment in that area too. The movie shown was great and a few actors popped up often to provide some fair scares while we were waiting. Both the haunts were unique with so many creative scares and shows throughout. Liked it so much that we promised to return back next season.

Email Verified Most fun I've had all year!

So I am giving this review as someone who is not easily frightened and am very composed. That being said, I led our group because I wanted to experience the haunt through surprise, not from what other people's reactions. I don't squeal, shriek, and run when I'm scared, but this place did have my heart in my throat a few times and constantly kept me on guard with anticipation. Attraction also had be dizzy and at times lost completely! I can say that we had 5 people in our group that was all around age 30iah (give or take probably 4 years. The other men and women both were screaming and running.) Touching is typically not allowed, but you can upgrade to the terror package and get a more hands on experience. I didn't personally do this because my gf didn't want to be left alone, which can happen with this upgrade we were told. The other two men in our group wouldn't do the terror package and when the girl they brought was desperately tried giving hers away, neither would take it. I will definitely be doing this attraction at Valentines day and next Halloween. They also had a second attraction called Insomnia. This was not optional to be touched or not. You got covered in blood, touched, and locked in rooms with mini puzzles. The haunt had a backstory and actors with scripted lines as well. I didn't find this experience as immerse as the other one and I had numerous ideas on how they could improve it, but it was an experimental thing and it had loads of potential. I really hope they keep it and refine it more for next year. All in all I'm not disappointed and if I could go again this year I would, even after seeing it once already!

My family had a wonderful time. I would have loved to have given it a 5 but the wait time was horrible. We arrived at 7:30 and did not get finished until 11:15. I would definitely recommend ordering tickets in advance and even ordering the fast pass. The characters roaming around did help pass the time and were very interactive with the kids but we only saw 5 or 6. The haunted house was great. Very unexpected floor tilts and darkness kept us on our toes. We loved the miners section because we have never seen that in a haunted house. There were several “dead zones” that, while decorated creatively, needed some good at you scares. And it was way longer than most. Right when we thought it was the end and turned the corner there was more. The Insomnia was the greatest. We loved the story and interaction. My only negative here was that it seemed way too short. I wanted more. To sum it up we drove for over an hour just to go for this because we found it on-lineand it sounded good and would do it again because we had such a good time. Thank you to all of those who put in the long hours and hard work.

Nothing like last year

There was nothing scary about this haunted house. I guess it didn't help we caught up the group ahead of us so there was 10 people in the group. Oh and then the group behind us caught up to us... but I am not sure it would have mattered even if it was just my daughter and me alone. I was ready to get out after being inside for like 2 minutes. The only fun thing was the spinning tunnel. Very disappointing. I took my son last year and it was so good he and his friend started crying and we had to leave. I think they would have been fine this year.

Would have been a 10 on 10 if not for the lines. Maybe it’s their policy to let in only a handful of people at a time, so as to increase the scare factor, but the ones standing out for very long hours would really feel frustrated after a while. The best haunted place I have ever been to so far. The first attraction was good and scary where a strange looking guy comes chasing you with his weird tricycle, and then all off a sudden you are left in a very dark corridor where it is just you and a creepy someone who is hanging above your head. All these leave shivers in your body. After the first attraction, we have the second part which is the Insomnia. It is a dark tunnel which you cross and come out with blood stains on your clothes. For a moment I was really spell bound. If you have a passion for scariness, then this is just the place for you. I would definitely be coming back.

So, let me preface this by saying I'm VERY hard to scare. I used to be a huge horror fanatic, and have pretty much immersed myself in scary stuff throughout my entire life. If I go to any of these types of things, even "extreme" ones, I just don't get scared. So what I kind of do is measure my experience in fun. I had a LOT of fun.After thinking on it for a minute I decided to opt in for the "touch and grab" experience. I'm not someone who generally likes being touched in regular situations, but I felt like I couldn't call myself "brave" if I didn't. They gave me a glowstick to put around my neck to signal that I wanted to be touched. I figured I could just rip it off if it got too intense. I was actually pretty nervous in line, hearing everyone screaming their heads off on the inside. We were only a group of two, and I was thankful when we got lumped in with another group of four more people. While I was waiting in line a big ol' sweaty dude came up behind me and essentially put me in a head lock, then just started petting me for about 30 seconds, touching all over my face and hair. I wasn't execting *that* kind of physical contact, more just grabbing and pawing, so BE WARNED. When they say " touch and grab", they go all out. The next 20-25 minutes made me feel like I was starring in my own horror movie, which totally thrilled me. I wasn't ever scared and I didn't scream, but the novelty of being handled in such a way and feeling like I was living in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was well worth the money. I think I yelped once, so I got at least one startle out of the experience.My favorite moment was going through this room with a table and a buzz saw. There was this huge dude that seemed to take a liking to me and started out with the headlock/headgrab/petting and whispering at my face. Then he progressed to actually *grabbing me by the neck, choking me while walking me backwards*. And I mean he HAD me by the neck, to the point that it was uncomfortable/slightly painful. I had to have my hand on his pulling because I was afraid of actually being choked. So he drags me around by my neck as I'm wriggling and trying to pry his hand off of me, then he slams me down front-first onto his saw-table and wrestles my hand right under this saw. I'm struggling and trying to pull my hand away as it's slowly being lowered, and of course at the last minute before it touches me he jerks my arm away. This was a TRUE horror-movie experience, and I felt just like a screamqueen. I think their goal was to see if they could get me to do anything but giggle, which was my reaction to everything, because I was having so much fun and was absolutely delighted by everything. I got shoved around between people a lot, and by the end of it my hair that had been in a top bun was down around my shoulders from being pulled and stroked so much. I also made friends with a clown and we skipped around their little carnival area, which was super fun. I was happy to not be ignored just because I wasn't a screaming mess.Anyway, I would highly recommend this haunt. If you're uncomfortable with intense physical stuff (they really seemed to have little to no limits when it comes to this), don't go for the touch and grab. But if you want to have even more fun, by all means, pay a little bit extra to get a more personal and intense experience. Awesome job, Guthrie Haunts Scaregrounds!

Awesome Place

We just love this haunted house. We were a group of 5 cousins and we just loved this place. The haunted house has touches and grabs which makes it even scarier yet awesome. We will never be able to find a haunted house as great as this one is. The staff is friendly and awesome. The actors have been very interactive and they were able to create a sense of real fear in the entire crowd. The Chainsaw guy left us awe struck. The best though was when our group got separated and we screamed out every minute. Awesome place. I would recommend you all to have a visit of this place.

Loved the horror and blood at Gutherie around Halloween time. I and my friends had a blast and truly horror experience, all the characters are great and act spookily to us. The guy dressed as a deadly monster was following my friend and around scaring the crap out of her was just perfect. Surely, we loved the horror presented there. Great job everyone. We were planning to visit a classic haunted attraction in the state and we ended up with Guthrie. This time we went on a Friday night, we reached about 15 minutes prior to schedule opening. Some fun changes were clearly visible at the house like the girl in the mirror- we have not seen that before, very cool stuff!!. The clowns were all on top of their game and had some great dialogue and interactions with us. After the main house we walked over to their new attraction, Insomnia. This is an interactive experience where you walk through the house and talk to the characters. It was awesome trip for us and recommended place to feel horror and blood!!!

Horrible. Absolutely disaster. If I could post zero stars I would. At the very outset, we paid extra for immediate access. But, then we got inside to wait in a line through the entire house. There were absolutely no scares. In fact there were only three actors inside the house and it was only irritating loud scream noise as a scare factor. Staffs were very rude and entire place lacked an ambience of entertainment. Save your money and go elsewhere. I'll never return.

Guthrie Haunts is by far the best haunted house I've ever been to. Every year, the scenes are changed and more effects are added. This year, they have added another haunt which guarantees to be the scariest yet I'm sure. The staff are always professional and courteous and value safety of their customers and actors above all. Last year, I was plastered against the wall in tears in the butcher shop, which has never happened in any haunt before.

Great attraction to be at!
