Langston's apparel store is housed inside a building that dates back to 1919 and originally operated as a dance hall and bar. Two ghosts are said to linger here, Patty and Rose, who are said to be trying to find one another. The 1920s-1930s women were taxi dancers and sisters at the dance hall when supposedly Patty got shot by a jealous boyfriend. This took place in what is now the children's clothing and women's boots section on the first floor. After the incident, Rose hanged herself upstairs. Lights are said to turn on and off by themselves, and an unseen presence follows people around the second floor. An employee even claimed to be shoved down the stairs by cold hands.

Haunted Langstons Western wear

I been coming to Langstons for years. Langstons use to be tenders western wear in Stockyards city. I shopped there for western apparel in 1977. Never new the history of the building until 2017. Last time I went was 2018 with my daughter too shop. While in there I asked a young sales lady if she would escort us up stairs to the second floor because I wanted to see where Rose hung herself. After asking the young lady does she know about the sisters, she said she didn't know that much about it, but knew where Rose hung her self. So we preceded up these tiny stairs towards the back of the mens jeans and as we went up the old wooden stairs to the second floor it was all original wooden floors. Like all old buildings were, in early 1900's. As we walked the sales lady seemed uneased and wanted to hurry up and show us the dressing room called the pink room where rose had hung herself. Well we finally made it to the these 6 little individual rooms, with original doors and knobs, they were all unlocked but one had a pad lock on it and that's the one Rose hung herself in said the sales lady, in an anxious tone. She said no one's allowed in there because strang things have happened in the past so they locked it up for good. After I observed the second floor which they used it for storage as boxes were everywhere I got an Erie feeling some ones watching us when walking by the rooms with my little girl in tow. But the sales lady was way in front of us anxious to leave you can tell she was scared and said she doesn't like it up her. I myself love history so I'm taking my time taking it in while telling the story of the two sister that died to my daughter who enjoyed it.
Anyways as were heading for the stair case to go back down I didn't feel nothing but the other lady said she was uneasy and other employees would hear things move at night. But it was Interesting to see a peace of history from the past and my guess is the dressig rooms for dance girls also served for for clients.
Downstairs in the girls department is where Roses sister was killed by a jealous boyfriend. Even though story is true I never felt any paranormal activity in all the years of going. But then again I never shopped at night. But it is a retail business so in order to get the full affect you would have to stay late at night when it's closed. Then I'm sure you'll encounter some spirits. But that's not going to happen unless you get a job there.
