This historic building is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Sappho Constantine Brown, the daughter of a former theatre owner. The building was being refurbished in the 1980s and workmen were said to encounter her apparition for the first time, which was accompanied by light footsteps. There have also been sounds of a phantom brawl throughout the place, possibly a remnant of when the edifice served as a hotel.
